PETALING JAYA: Sepang International Circuit (SIC) have received the nod to host the official MotoGP testing from Feb 5-6 but they are cautious.
They just don’t want history to repeat itself.
Last year, SIC had looked good to host the event but it had to be called off at the last minute due to a 14-day lockdown in the country due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the Omicron variant spreading, promoters Dorna are hoping that it would not affect the testing.
Strict Covid-19 policies will be put in place before the official test while emails have been sent on the strict rules so that the Sepang event will be carried out with the lowest possible risk.
Under the bubble system, all MotoGP personnel will only travel to and from their hotel to the circuit and every member has to go through PCR tests.
