KUALA LUMPUR: One podium is not enough for Adam Norrodin as he is looking for more when the CEV Moto2 Europe Championship resumes in Valencia this weekend.
The 22-year-old wants to maintain the positive momentum from the season-opening round in Estoril, Portugal, two weeks ago where he finished third in Race 1. He placed fourth in Race 2.
It was his first podium finish in the development series for the MotoGP world championship.
It was a major improvement for the Liqui Moly Intact SIC Junior Team rider, considering he has never finished better than fifth in all his 18 previous races since his debut in the 2019 season.
Then, Adam finished 15th overall in the championship standings before improving to seventh last year.
“I believe I can fight for the top three on race day as this is a track I am very much familiar with, ” he said.
“I came here earlier in the year for testing where we did well.
“My focus is only on qualifying in a good position, so I can fight for the podium better.
“I am working well with the crew members as I need to understand fast how the bike works.
“The most important thing is that I maintain my top three position in the championship, ” added Adam, who is third in the overall standings on 29 points.
