Total shutdown for industry if races are not held, says Shahrol


In limbo: The sixth round of the Petronas Malaysian Cub Prix has been shelved to December or next year.

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Motorcycle Racers Association (MMRA) president Shahrol Yuzy Ahmad Zaini pleaded with the government to help the motorsport industry survive by holding races.

The Petronas Malaysian Cub Prix Championship which was postponed since March was finally flagged off in July after the government announced that non-contact sports and competitions could be held.

The sixth round of the competition scheduled in October has been shelved to December or next year after failing to get the approval due to the rising Covid-19 cases.
