But first, they have to beat their rivals online.
Axle Motorsport, helmed by former F1 driver Alex Yoong, announced the setting up of the Causeway Edition virtual championship , which is sanctioned by the Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM).
The event will be held like a regular championship, with races every Sunday at 2pm from April 26 until May 17.
“For this edition, we will be using the Tatuus Formula 4 car, which is just like the real Formula 4 car they use in Europe.
“We will also be racing on four of the fastest and most challenging circuits from around the world – the Brands Hatch Circuit, Zandvoort Circuit, Laguna Seca Circuit and Suzuka Circuit.
“With all these new drivers coming to eSports through online simulator racing, we are keen to provide a world-class platform for these drivers to showcase what they can do,” said Axle Motorsport in a statement.
The best placed Malaysian and Singaporean, aged 18 and under, will get to drive the real thing with Stratos Motorsport.
