Afif clocks fastest time in CP150 practice

PETALING JAYA: Ahmad Afif Amran stole the limelight after coming out the fastest in the timed practice session for the CP150 class in the fourth round of the Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship in Teluk Intan, Perak.

Afif blazed the track in 52.409 yesterday. His Petronas Sprinta Yamaha-CKJ team-mate – Mohd Fitri Ashraf Razali – was second quickest in 52.868.

Team Motul Zeneos Yamaha YY Pang’s Mohd Azhar Abd Jalil was third fastest in 52.899.

Afif was clearly satisfied with the progress his team have made over the past few rounds.

“The bike was in very good shape today. It seemed like all the problems we had in the first two rounds have been resolved.

“I’m confident of maintaining this form for the SuperPole tomorrow and in the final,” said Afif, who is hunting for his first podium finish this season.
