Local drivers hope to shine on home track

SEPANG: Four young and talented Malaysian drivers are hoping to capitalise on home ground advantage in the Formula 4 South-East Asia (F4/SEA) Championship, which begins at the Sepang International Circuit today.

The Malaysian challenge will see the quartet of Isyraf Danish, Eric Louis, Chia Wing Hoong and Adam Khalid going up against a strong field of competitors in six races of the final event on the calendar.

Having earned himself one rookie win in the opening round at Sepang in August, in addition to his double podium finish at Sentul, Indonesia, last month, the 15-year-old Isyraf is hoping to continue to build on his experience this weekend.

“I’m glad to be back racing in Sepang. After my two outings at Clark (Philippines) in October and Sentul (Indonesia) last month, I’m more confident that I can perform better and continue to improve.

Practice and qualifying will take place today, followed by the first race. Four more races will be contested tomorrow and the remaining race on Saturday.
