SEPANG: Eighteen-year-old Muhammad Syafiq Rasol created history by scoring Malaysia’s first-ever win in the Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup (SAATC) with a daring move at the last corner in the opening race of the final round at the Sepang International Circuit.

Slotted as one of the support races, the contest was expected to be dominated by Japan’s two leading riders – Yuta Date and Kaito Toba, who are fighting to become the inaugural champion of the regional championship.
