Zamri shows who's boss in ARRC

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s Mohd Zamri Baba showed compatriot Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi who’s boss when he pipped his Honda team-mate to the SuperSports 600cc pole position in Round Two of the Petronas Asia Road Racing Championship in Indonesia.

Zamri outpaced Zaqhwan by a mere 0.100 seconds in the final moments of the 40-minute qualifying session at the Sentul International Circuit on Saturday to nick the pole in 1:30.128. Zaqhwan clocked 1:30.228 for his career’s first front-row start.

“We had a positive run today despite running into a couple of snags in the morning,” said Zamri.

“Getting pole in the qualifying is a good sign we can be competitive tomorrow (today). We have no intentions of taking things easy on race day because the top 10 riders are separated by less than a second,” added the 31-year-old.
