BARCELONA (Reuters) - French driver Jean-Eric Vergne was handed a 10-place grid penalty and his Toro Rosso Formula One team fined 30,000 euros ($41,300) on Friday after the right rear wheel came off his car during Spanish Grand Prix practice.
Stewards said in a statement that the turn one incident, during the afternoon session at the Circuit de Catalunya, was considered "a significant breach of the safety requirements".
