PETALING JAYA: The new season of the Malaysian Rally Championship (MRC) is back, starting with the first round in Manjong, Perak, today.

China’s Wan Yu Rally Team, in collaboration with GSR Motorsports, will be hitting the gravel with an impressive line-up of drivers.

Spearheading the team is the skilful Fan Fan and co-driver Fang Junwei.

Having won the final round of the championship in Bahau last year, Fan Fan is all geared up to win the opening round in his powerful Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X.

Also on board the Wan Yu team is overall defending champion Brian Green. The Kiwi is navigated by experienced co-driver Fleur Pedersen. The duo will also be using the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X.

Malaysian Karamjit Singh, the former World Rally Championship (production car) and MRC champion, will also be driving under the Wan Yu livery.

The Flying Sikh is expected to put up a strong performance and give the other competitors a tough challenge during the two-day event.

Completing the four-car Wan Yu team is Chinese national Yuan Hao and co-driver Pan Hongyu. They will be driving the Mitsubishi Lancer.
