Hockey: Faizal’s four-goal blitz leads Terengganu to MHL victory

PETALING JAYA: Faizal Saari capped a perfect season for Terengganu by scoring all four goals in their 4-1 win over Australia's Territory Stingers to emerge as Malaysian Hockey League (MHL) champions on Sunday (Feb 16).

Terengganu kept a clean slate by winning all nine matches en route to their seventh MHL title.

Head coach Harfizi Baharom’s team won 4-1 against the visitors and claimed their second trophy of the year at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil today.

Terengganu had won the Charity Shield fixture last month after defeating last season’s treble winners Tenaga Nasional.

During the final match, the Stingers were first to score as Isaac Farmilo found the net in the fifth minute.

But it was Terengganu hitman Faizal's turn to steal the spotlight with his goals in the 14th, 24th, 32nd, and 33rd minutes.
