PETALING JAYA: The 2025 Junior World Cup is a year away, but head coach I. Vikneswaran wants to make sure the squad start their preparations ahead of time.

The national junior hockey team fell short of a podium finish at the Junior Asia Cup after Japan beat them 2-1 on Wednesday in Muscat, Oman, but fourth place was still enough for Malaysia to book a spot in the World Cup next December in India.
