PETALING JAYA: Sports run in the family of teenage hockey player T. Naaveenash (pic), one of the 30 players selected by new national coach Sarjit Singh recently.

The 19-year-old’s father, Thevendran, was a footballer who came close to signing a contract with Perak but had to give up his career due to family commitments.
