Peillat and Wellen cap classic Germany fightback for showdown with Belgium

IT was a tale of two heroes behind Germany’s dramatic come-from-behind 4-3 win over Australia in their World Cup semi-final at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

Diminutive Argentinian-born Gonzalo Peillat fired a hattrick via penalty corners in the last two quarters (42nd, 51st and 58th minutes) before Niklas Wellen hit home the winner in the 59th to send the mighty Germans into the final where defending champions Belgium await.
