Syafiq thrilled to be in semis but something’s missing

PETALING JAYA: Perak’s captain Syed Syafiq Syed Mohd Cholan (pic) is thrilled to have qualified for the Razak Cup semi-final with his home state Perak but he wished more of his national teammates had been part of the competition.

“How I wish more of the national boys who played in Europe were part of this tournament as they would have added more quality. It would have been good for some of the young boys to face some of the country’s best players,” said the 26-year-old defender. The national players were not released to their respective states as they look to prepare for the World Cup next year.
