PETALING JAYA: It was just over two quarters but Malaysia had a good warm-up ahead of the Asia Cup, which begins on Monday, by securing a 3-0 win over Asian Games champions Japan in Jakarta.

After having failed to score goals in the four-match friendly series against Australia in Perth last month, the Malaysian Tigers would have been relieved to score three although it would be hard to gauge the true strengths of both teams.
