Malaysia holds Belgium 1-1 in Junior Hockey World Cup

PETALING JAYA: It was not a win, but Malaysia will be pleased to hold 2016 Junior World Cup runners-up Belgium 1-1 in their second Group A Junior Hockey World Cup match at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, India, on Friday (Nov 26).

Malaysia got the first goal in the 29th minute through midfielder Amirul Hamizan Azhar, who scored off a penalty corner.

But the Belgians equalised through Thibeau Stockbroekx, who finished off a penalty corner in the 49th minute.

Malaysia won the first game against Chile 2-1.

Malaysia and Belgium have four points from two matches, but the European side is top thanks to better goal difference.
