Gymnasts can’t stay in their cocoon if they want to succeed, says Nellie

Former gymnast Nellie Vladimirovna Kim or better known as Nellie Kim is a five-time Olympic Games gold medallist and world champion. She won three golds and a silver at the 1976 Montreal Games and two golds at the 1980 Games in Moscow. The 1.52m-tall Nellie was in Malaysia recently to share her experience and knowledge with the national coaches and junior gymnasts under the International Gymnastics Federation (IFG) Ambassadors’ Commission programme. She spoke to STARSPORT’s T. AVINESHWARAN about her aspirations and what Malaysia needs to do to become a powerhouse in the sport.
