Impressive feat: Mirabel Ting earned enough points to receive an invitation to play in the Amundi Evian Championship in France from July 10-13.

PETALING JAYA: Mirabel Ting learned an important lesson at the Maybank Championship yesterday – angry golf never wins.

The 20-year-old Sarawakian endured a nightmare start to her second round at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club, carding two double bogeys and three bogeys over the first 11 holes. But instead of letting frustration take over, she regrouped brilliantly, firing four birdies in her final seven holes to salvage a three-over 75 and stay at two-under 142.
