Bethpage not quite the beast it’s made out up to be

AHEAD of the Ryder Cup this week, all that talk about Bethpage Black being a beast was, well maybe not as bad as it was made out to be.

The setup for this week’s Ryder Cup has been more like a regular tour event than a major, with the rough cut down to a manageable two inches, some of the tee boxes, including on the par-4 1st hole, moved up and a drenching bout of rain on Thursday softening up the course.
