Golfer Winnie has fruitful outing in Thailand

PETALING JAYA: Rookie pro Winnie Ng (pic) made a commendable debut in the Thailand LPGA Tour at the Singha-NSFG-Chonburi Ladies Championship over the weekend.

She successfully made the half-way cut and finished tied for 32nd out of 132 players with rounds of 74, 72, and 74 for a total score of four-over 220.

The 23-year-old recorded 14 birdies though they were offset by four double bogeys and 10 bogeys.

Winnie has made all the tour cuts except the mixed gender tour Webex Players Series Sydney earlier in the year.

Winnie will next compete in the China LPGA event – Chongqing Women’s Open – scheduled from Thursday to April 19 at KingRun Nansha Golf Club this weekend.

Winnie turned professional in October 2024 after securing victories at the Malaysia Ladies Amateur Open and the Royal Selangor Golf Club Ladies Amateur Open.
