FORMER British Open champion Darren Clarke says “everybody uses the half-shot” on Tour – players not hitting a full shot with anything from a 7-iron down.“I use the half-punch all the time, whether it’s with a driver, an 8-iron or a 4-iron.

“I used this shot a lot with my driver off the tee at the 2011 British Open (when I won). I also use it on tight holes where I need to hit the fairway.
