Golfer Mirabel continues Ting family's golden tradition in Sukma

KUCHING: There is now two Sukma champions in the Ting golfing family. Mirabel, 18, joined in her elder brother's footsteps by winning the Sukma girls gold medal in Kuching today.

The United States-based girl romped to a comfortable 10-stroke win after closing her campaign with a two-under 70 in the final round today (Aug 18).

Perak's Wang Xin Yao was the closest finisher with a three-day aggregate of 216 following a similar two-under 70.

Cambodia SEA Games gold medallist Ng Jing Xuen took bronze for Federal Territories with her total of two-over 218.

Her brother Malcolm won the boys' individual crown two years ago but has since turned pro.

There was double joy for the hosts as Anson Yeo closed with a one-under 71 to claim the boys' individual title with a total of six-under 210.

Finishing three shots behind for silver was Selangor's Ajmal Amin Fakri after he managed a final round of four-over 76.
