KUALA LUMPUR: Thailand’s Jazz Janewattananond and Indian Veer Ahlawat shot sparkling nine-under 62s to claim the first round lead in the US$1mil (RM4.78mil) IRS Prima Malaysian Open at the Mines Resort and Golf Club.

Canadian Richard T. Lee fired a 63 while Gavin Green and Khavish Varadan raised local cheers with seven-under 64s in the Asian Tour’s first event of the year.
