Players get chance to qualify for the Open

IT was heartening to hear this week that Asian Tour members will get the opportunity to qualify for golf’s oldest major championship this year following the R&A’s announcement that the IRS Prima Malaysian Open and the Kolon Korea Open will be part of the British Open qualifiers.

The Malaysian Open, to be staged at the Mines Resort and Golf Club in Kuala Lumpur from Feb 15 to 18 as the season-opening tournament on the Asian Tour, will offer three slots at the British Open.
