PETALING JAYA: Thailand’s Jasmine Suwannapura, despite having little knowledge of the course, set a cracking pace with seven birdies and an eagle at No.14 in a superb unblemished first round to take the lead at the Maybank Championship at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club yesterday.

The 30-year-old, who is also an avid table tennis player, certainly struck the right chord as she managed to finish her round before the rain came.
