Achievement: Ng Jing Xuen kissing the trophy after winning the Malaysian Ladies Amateur Open (MLAO) yesterday.

RAWANG: What a year it has turned out to be for teenage golfer Ng Jing Xuen. Making history as the first Malaysian woman golf champion at the SEA Games stage and now becoming the first local winner of the Malaysian Ladies Amateur Open (MLAO) in seven years.

And the 15-year-old achieved victory in style by firing a spectacular hole-in-one on the par-three eighth hole en route to a two-under 70 in the final round of the tournament at the picturesque Templer Park Country Club in Rawang yesterday.
