Q: How important are Asian events like the Honda LPGA Thailand for this region?

A: I think they are important for all regions because people talk about growing the game and wanting golf to get bigger and better. I believe that the game has really grown and continues to grow. If you look at the PGA Tour – it’s only getting bigger and better. For me though, as an LPGA member, I believe that any part of the world that you can showcase the talent and showcase golf – it is a pretty good thing. We have a lot of Asian sponsors and Korea is really big with women’s golf, and I know they’ve been a big supporter. Coming to the Honda LPGA Thailand, different Asian tournaments, there are very important for us to keep our relationships and the golf going, because it’s not only in America that the game needs to grow. There are people who want to play golf all around the world and golf is a worldwide sport now. I believe showcasing it anywhere that we possibly can is important.
