Four-handicapper Amir Benno emerged as the champion on countback from Mohd Nasir Othman after both returned with 41 points to their credit. Mohd Firdaus Ahmad took third place, also on countback, with 39 points in a tournament that was played with a System 36 Stableford format and had loads of attractive novelty and lucky draw prizes offered.
Amir, for his efforts, won the grand prize of an all-expensed paid trip to the UnderArmour Golf Day in Thailand and Unde Armour vouchers with a combined value of RM4,000.
Both Mohd Nasir and Mohd Firdaus were rewarded with UnderArmour vouchers to be redeemed at MST Golf outlets.
In the novelty contests, Siw Tong Seng hit the longest drive on the 10th hole, chalking up a distance of 239 metres.
Rastam Ariffin came closest to the pin on Hole 12 when his ball coming to rest eight feet 11 inches from the cup.
It was a closely fought contest for the nearest to line prizes which ended up with three players all having their drives come to rest on the line itself. The three – Ismail Abu, Samsul Jaihan and Hisa Araki – walked away with UnderArmour products for their impressive feats.
Participants in the tournament also had a chance to test the latest Garmin Approach S40 GPS watch, Approach G80 GPS launch monitor and Approach Z80 GPS rangefinder during the event.
And prior to the prize-giving luncheon, participants had the opportunity to stroke the perfect putt on the PuttOut practice mat to be considered for a lucky draw whose prize was a pair of UnderArmour Spieth 3 golf shoes worth RM1,090.
The event came together through the combined efforts of UnderArmour, MST Golf and Garmin.
