PETALING JAYA: Ashley Goh (pic) made the country proud when she won the overall title at the Singapore Open junior championships.
She saved her best for last, carding a three-under 69 in the third and final round yesterday.
In her first-two rounds, she carded a 77 and 76 for a six-over 222 total.
Australia’s Keeley Marx finished four strokes behind in second place with 226 while another Malaysian, Ashley Chin, came in third on 232.
Marcus Lim Pang Chuen was the best placed Malaysian in the boys’ category, finishing fifth with a 17-over 233.
Aryan Roopa Anand of India won title with a six-over 222.
Malaysia also won the girls’ team title through the combined effort of Ashley Goh and Ashley Chin while Nor Harith Nor Hadi (236) and Marcus were second in the boys’ team event.
