SINGAPORE: China’s Liu Yu was just 13 when she had the opportunity to travel here to play the Pro-Am with the world’s then best female golfers Tseng Yani of Taiwan and Lorena Ochoa of Mexico at the HSBC Women’s World Championship (then known as HSBC Women’s Champions).
The brief stint did the Beijing-born lass a world of good as Liu Yu had since set her sights on becoming a top professional golfer.
