Following the developments of this week, TPC Kuala Lumpur does not have a big international tournament to host – but for how long?

THE news this week that the US PGA Tour would no longer have the CIMB Classic on its schedule left a damper on the industry, but it did not come as big surprise.

In a message shared on whatsapp and attributed to the Tour’s Kuala Lumpur-based vice-president and executive director Todd Rhinehart, the PGA Tour “decided to bid farewell to the CIMB Classic” and “to evolve the partnership between our organisations into a different form”.
