PETALING JAYA: Gavin Kyle Green (pic) held his nerves in the closing stages to qualify for the weekend rounds of the 147th British Open at the Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland.

The 24-year-old debutant grinded out a two-over 73 after trading two birdies against four birdies to finish just above the cut line made at three-over 145 total on Friday (July 20).
