FANS eagerly anticipating the return of the British Open to Carnoustie Golf Club now have less than 100 days to go before the world’s best golfers arrive at the renowned links for the 147th Open.

The Open was last played at Carnoustie in 2007 and preparations are being made to welcome the many thousands of fans who will experience a global celebration of golf at the Angus links from July 15-22.

Following the conclusion of a thrilling Masters Tournament last week, the golf season is underway in earnest and in just over three months, attention will turn to the Open and the pursuit of the Claret Jug by the game’s greatest names including defending champion Jordan Spieth, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Henrik Stenson and the victor at Augusta National Golf Club, Patrick Reed.

It will be the eighth occasion that Carnoustie has hosted the Open with as the likes of Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Tom Watson and Paul Lawrie among those to have gone on to become champion Golfer of the Year at what is widely regarded as one of the most challenging courses in Major championship golf.
