THE fifth leg of the Damai Laut Series 2017 enjoyed a full turnout as 104 golfers took to the fairways.
Two BMW 118i M-Sport were the star prizes on offer, albeit no one managed the perfect shot.
The tournament, played with a stroke play format, saw Wan Soon Keng take the gross champion title with a score of 75. He went home with a trophy, Sharp 50-inch television set and a 3D/2N stay at Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Damai Laut.
The nett title went to Azlan Yahaya who carded a score of 65 to win himself a trophy, Sharp 40-inch TV and a 3D/2N stay at Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Damai Laut.
The round of golf experienced fine weather and culminated with a feisty prize-giving lunch with the resort’s general manager Patrick Tee pleasantly surprised by the good turnout.
“We have been overwhelmed by the response for the fifth leg of the series,” said Tee. “And we urge golfers to book early for the up-coming events, including the grand final (Dec 3).
“Apart from the Damai Laut Golf Series, we will also host the annual Swiss-Garden Challenge (Dec 19) and our signature event, the Swiss-Garden Cup (Dec 16-17).
“We also encourage golfers to bring their families for an outing, which could be highlighted by the resort’s Wet Side Mini Water theme park and Young Citizens of the World Kids Club, which will be opening soon.
“To add to all this, Damai Laut Golf & Country Club was chosen as the venue for the PGM EurAsia Perak Championship, an event that falls under the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour and Asian Development Tour (ADT),” added Tee.
A lucky draw added to the excitement of the fifth leg, whose marketing partners included Nippon Golf Tech, Heineken, Oman Air, CrestLink, Srixon and Atria Shopping Gallery.
