PARIS (Reuters) - Ryder Cup captains Thomas Bjorn and Jim Furyk hit synchronised shots off a platform high up on the Eiffel Tower to continue the countdown to next year's showdown between Europe and the United States - to be held in France for the first time.

From the edge of a huge drop, the duo sent two balls flying into the Champs de Mars Square below to recreate Arnold Palmer's famed 1976 drive off the Paris landmark.
