In launching the club, Salem said: “This is the moment that PNBD have been waiting for and I am so proud that the golf course has finally been launched.
“My wish is that Kota Seriemas Golf & Country Club will become the catalyst in promoting Kota Seriemas township.”
The club has been operating since last October and within a few months hosted almost a handful of Professional Golf Malaysia (PGM) Tour events, including the Malaysia-Indonesia Invitational 2016.
Among the other high profile tournaments hosted were the PGM Seniors Championship 2016 and the PGM CCM Seriemas Championship 2017.
The club is a par-72 tract that is spread over 150 acres and turfed with Bermuda grass. It is also a public course designed to attract golfers who want to play a round of golf on a championship layout while enjoying the beauty of the Malaysian countryside.
Kota Seriemas features an 18-hole championship tract designed by well-known architect Nigel B. Douglas.
The landscape was done according to the “Colours of the Forest” theme, with more than 40 types of flowers and trees set on the course and where each hole was specifically given a distinct and unique look.
PNBD also used the occasion to launch Mawar Indah, another affordable residential project in Kota Seriemas.
In conjunction with Mawar Indah a short drama (on social media) entitled “Qaseh” was launched.
The main characters in the drama also made appearances at the event in a meet-and-greet session with guests and members of the public.
There were other activities for the children, parents and a special appearance by local artistes such as Janna Nick and Zarul Umbrella, while the talented Adibah Noor entertained the crowd with her charming jokes and event information.
Kota Seriemas itself is a self contained township on a 2,400-acre development situated in Nilai and has a target population of 60,000, based on the concept of eco-friendly and wholesome living, where residential homes and commercial businesses co-exist in natural surroundings.
Kota Seriemas was launched about 15 years ago and the opening of the golf course should do wonders for the place.
