SRIXON Sports Asia have launched their new line of equipment for 2017 and simultaneously announced that they will form an alliance with Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Club and J Golf Sdn Bhd to increase brand awareness and build a win-win situation for all three parties as they help grow the golf sector in Malaysia.
With the alliance, Srixon will support Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Club to help grow the game in the Rawang area and at the same time increase awareness of the latest additions to the brand – Srixon XXIO Prime and Forged.
Srixon will also sponsor some of the events and tournaments organised by Tasik Puteri. And with the presence of J Golf as the official pro shop and golf academy at Tasik Puteri, Srixon hope to introduce their golf equipment and accessories to golfers in the area.
“The main function of the alliance will be to build a strong foundation to help grow the golfing industry in Malaysia and encourage golfers to experience the great opportunity that Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Club has got to offer,” said Srixon Sports Asia managing director Tommy Ieda. “It is a partnership that we believe will go a some way to boosting the game in the area.”
Srixon Sports Asia director Hidekazu Tagashira added that they were looking forward to “working with Tasik Puteri and J Golf.
“Tasik Puteri is an established brand in the Malaysian golf industry, given its long history, and with J Golf the tripartite agreement should become one that will make Srixon and the other two parties proud.”
Explaining some of the technical craftsmanship that went into developing the new equipment, Srixon sales and marketing manager Leon Low said: “These clubs have the best and latest innovations that Srixon have come up with to date. We are quietly confident that they (the clubs) will make a decent impact on the local scene.
“We at Srixon would merely like to suggest that golfers of all skill levels try to out the new line and find out first-hand just how advanced this new technology that we have is.”
The New XXIO Prime series includes a driver, fairway woods, utility club and irons. The Forged line has been bolstered with a new iron set.
XXIO Prime Driver
A 46-inch shaft with a powerful draw bias delivers good flight and a strong trajectory. The main focus was on designing a longer shaft with less weight that helps create a faster head speed and powerful draw bias. Suggested retail price: RM 3,990
XXIO Prime Utility Club
This club boasts good distance and is 2.5 yards longer compared to the previous model. It has a thicker maraging cup clubface and comes with a better crown for improved repulsion performance. The increased clubface height and thickness means the sweet spot is bigger than before. Suggested retail price: RM 1,790 (U5, U6, U7 & U8).
XXIO Prime Irons
The new XXIO Prime irons have the lowest and deepest centre of gravity of any of Srixon’s irons. The expanded Titanium face also improves repulsion and makes for a better trajectory. The clubface is expanded towards the sole for improved overall performance. Suggested retail price: RM9,200 (5-9, PW, AW & SW).
XXIO Prime Fairway Woods
These woods have a higher launch than the previous model and enjoy an extra 3.4 yards. The new thicker, full Titanium cup face improves its repulsion performance across the club face. The new face is 0.5mm thicker than the previous model. Suggested retail price: RM2,690
