Ervin stays close behind leader at amateur meet

Ervin Chang in first round action of the Malaysian Amateur Open at the Templer Park Country Club in Rawang on Thursday.

PETALING JAYA: Youngster Ervin Chang is a stroke off the lead after the first round of the Malaysian Amateur Championship.

The 17-year-old Malaysian No. 1 carded a two-under 70 to leave him in second place, just one shot behind leader Naarajie Emerald Ramadhanputra of Indonesia at the Templer Park Country Club in Rawang on Thursday.
