Flawless Piercy leads opening round of CIMB Classic

KUALA LUMPUR: Scott Piercy went on a birdie binge, shooting a flawless 10-under 62 to snatch the first-round lead at the US$7mil (RM30mil) CIMB Classic.

The 36-year-old American sank 10 birdies to take a three-stroke lead over Japanese Hideki Matsuyama at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club’s West Course on Thursday.
