KUALA LUMPUR: It was a day for the new kids on the block as American rookie Alison Lee and Chinese teenager Lin Xi Yu fired identical six-under 65s for a share of the lead after the first round of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia.

Both Alison and Xi Yu also had something in common – seven birdies against one bogey – after Thursday’s play at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.
