Golf: Good day for Khai Jei


INCHEON: Malaysian golfer Low Khai Jei made an encouraging start in the men’s individual first round, carding a three-under 69 for joint fifth place at the Dream Park Country Club.

The 18-year-old picked up four birdies against a bogey to be the best Malaysian performer.

Pan Cheng-tsung of Taiwan shot to the top of the leaderboard with a sizzling 66. South Koreans Kim Nam-hun and Youm Eun-ho are second after posting identical 67s.

Muhd Afif Mohd Razif carded a 71 to be the next best Malaysian in joint 20th spot. Chan Tuck Soon hit a 72 to be joint 28th. Muhd Wafi Abdul Manaf failed to find his form, posting a 75 for joint 38th place
