PETALING JAYA: National No. 1 Gavin Kyle Green’s hopes of progressing in the US Amateur Open golf championship came a cropper in the match play first round at the Atlanta Athletic Club. 

The 20-year-old, who is ranked 18th in the world amateur rankings, went down 4 & 3 in match play to Paul Howard of England on Wednesday.
