PETALING JAYA: Immigration and Sabah were left seeking their first win in the Super League despite battling out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Batu Kawan Stadium on Sunday (Oct 26).
Hosts Immigration were first to take the lead with Joao Pedro scoring the opener in the 27th minute, putting pressure on visitors Sabah.
But the Rhinos did not sit quietly and allow the match slip away as they replied with force in the second half.
Midfielder Stuart Wilkin came through and got the equaliser in the 50th minute, before Miguel Cifuentes put their side ahead with a goal just four minutes later.
However, Immigration’s Eduardo Sosa took advantage of Sabah’s lapse in defense in the 78th minute, allowing him to equalise at 2-2.
Things got heated up towards the end of the match when Immigration substitute Nik Akif Syahiran Nik Mat was shown the red card for a rough tackle on Farhan Roslan in injury time.
But the score remained tied at the final whistle, with the result not doing any good for both teams as they remain winless in the league this season.
Sabah only have four points after seven games and are currently in 10th, while Immigration have three points and are at the bottom.
