(Reuters) -Manchester City women have signed Germany midfielder Sydney Lohmann from Bayern Munich on a three-year deal, the Women's Super League club said on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old Lohmann, currently playing at the Euros, has won four Frauen-Bundesliga titles in a nine-year spell at the Bavarian club, including a domestic double last season.

Lohmann has made 167 appearances for Bayern and scored 31 goals since making her Bundesliga debut in 2017.

She has 39 caps after her 2018 debut, helping Germany win bronze at the 2024 Olympics and finish runners-up at Euro 2022.

"I'm really thankful for the time at Bayern Munich and I'm happy that I gained those experiences, but I think always when you go somewhere else, a big step like that, it's always good for your personal growth," Lohmann said in a statement.

City finished fourth in the WSL last season on 43 points, 17 behind champions Chelsea and outside the Champions League spots.

"I definitely want to win a title, because I can see that’s possible," added Lohmann. "I think things have probably been quite tough in the last few months or year and everyone is really hungry to do better."
