PETALING JAYA: Selangor’s Faisal Halim suffered a fractured nose in his last match of the Super League but he would be fine.
Selangor confirmed that the mercurial winger suffered the injury during their 2-0 win against Police at the Petaling Jaya Stadium on Saturday but assured that he would still be able to play.
Faisal was accidentally elbowed by Police centreback Faith Obilor during a challenge in the 54th minute.
Selangor stated that the 27-year-old should be cleared to play for Malaysia in the upcoming 2027 Asian Cup third-round qualifying game against Vietnam in June.
“According to an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist, he suffered a ‘fracture nasal bone with mucosa laceration and will be treated conservatively and undergo a thorough examination shortly,” said a statement from Selangor yesterday.
“There are no harmful effects for him to play on the field.”
It was the Red Giants last match in the league and they wrapped up the campaign as the second best team behind Johor Darul T’azim with 52 points from 24 games.
