PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) are closing on their 11th consecutive Super League title.

They just need one more win in the league after thrashing Police 4-0 at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri on Wednesday (Feb 5).

Or the Southern Tigers could seal it as early as Feb 8 if second-placed Selangor loses to Pahang at the Petaling Jaya Stadium.

Colombian striker Jorge Obregon drew first blood in the 14th minute and the second was scored by left wingback La’vere Corbin-Ong in the 39th minute.

In the second-half, Spanish attacker Jese Rodriguez scored the third in the 55th minute.

Striker Romel Morales sealed a glorious night for JDT, scoring the fourth in the 81st minute.

The win was also the perfect birthday gift for coach Hector Bidoglio, who turned 57 on Wednesday.

JDT have collected 55 points from 19 matches, while Selangor are second with 39 points from 18 games. Police stay seventh with 21 points from 18 games.

The next league game for JDT is against Perak on Feb 27.
