Cyprus authorities fault soccer governing body, the FA, for top-tier game descending into chaos

NICOSIA (Reuters) - Cypriot authorities on Monday accused the country's soccer federation of ignoring red flags after a high risk first division soccer fixture descended into chaos on Sunday night.

The game between perennial cross-town rivals Apollon and AEL Limassol was called off after authorities said it was impossible to police the fixture. At least four people were injured in clashes in and out of the AlphaMega stadium in Limassol.
