Cops turn to locals to beef up their force

PETALING JAYA: Police are buying local for now in their bid to strengthen their position in the Super League.

The Cops, coached by P. Maniam, announced the signings of striker Hadi Fayyadh Abdul Razak (pic) from Perak and Kelantan defender Fakhrullah Rosli.

Hadi had joined Police on loan from Perak last year and the 24-year-old has decided to come on board permanently in the second transfer window.

Last season, the former J3 League side Azul Claro Numazu player, played 12 games for Police and the Klang Valley-based side saw that he could add more firepower to the front line.

Fakhrullah, also 24, is a police officer who is adept as a centreback or fullback.

Maniam believes the two players have the qualities to widen the team’s options.

“With Hadi and Fakhrullah on board, we have more options. They have the qualities to strengthen the team as we hope to add one more player during this transfer window,” he said.

“We’re still looking for a central midfielder.

“I’m aware Hadi played for the Perak II team in the MFL Cup but we will see how he is at training before deciding if we can start him right away.

“For now, I’m still going with Eky (Shahrel Fikri Md Fauzi), Dayo (Ifedayo Olusegun) and Bruno (Suzuki) up front.

“As for Fakhrullah, he is still little raw. He is working a lot during training sessions to fit in.”

Police are seventh in the league with 11 points after eight games. For a start, Hadi and Fakhrullah may just get some minutes against Pahang at the Temerloh Stadium on Sunday.
