(Reuters) - Brighton & Hove Albion have signed Denmark midfielder Matt O'Riley from Scottish Premiership side Celtic on a five-year contract, the Premier League club announced on Monday.

Financial details were not disclosed by either club, but British media reported that the deal was worth around 25 million pounds ($33 million).

The 23-year-old London-born player, capped twice for Denmark, started his senior career at fellow Premier League club Fulham before moving to English League Two side Milton Keynes Dons.

Having joined Celtic in 2022, he scored 27 goals and provided 35 assists in 124 appearances for the club.

Brighton, who stunned Manchester United 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday, next host English League One club Crawley Town in the League Cup on Tuesday.
